With his broad range of experience in planning and design of substation and power delivery systems, Mr. Rich has extensive experience in development of electrical designs, both conceptually and with detail to meet varying specifications and formats. He has completed a wide range of power system planning, design and construction projects for substations and industrial distribution end users, other consultants and project contractors. His experience also includes development of power systems designs, including conceptual and detailed protective relaying schemes, outdoor arrangements, grounding, and interconnections. His almost 30 years of professional experience includes performance of systems studies including short circuit, relay coordination, load flow, motor starting, power quality and harmonics.

Mr. Rich's experience also includes proposal and project support duties including equipment specification, bid evaluation, schedule administration and site inspections. He has been responsible for the engineering of numerous design/construct substation projects as well as sales and engineering of protection and control panel projects for clients in more than 25 states and several foreign countries. His work portfolio includes the design and installation of 500kV through 34.5 kV utility and industrial substations, development of conceptual system designs for power systems, including bus arrangement, equipment ratings, protection philosophy and interface with industrial/utility customers, design of numerous substations for interconnecting power plants to utility transmission grids, management of multi-disciplined engineering projects, performance of direct electrical engineering for multiple gas-insulated substation projects for both indoor and outdoor installations and has managed the engineering and procurement activities for several static var control stations, including yard design and protection and control.
