Ron Served four years in the U.S. Navy. Upon completion of the USN Aviation Electronics School he began his tour of duty at the Pacific Missile Range, Point Mugu, CA. Ron served as an Electronic Counter Measure Technician aboard the EC-121K Super Constellation and as a Target Drone Launch Operator on the P2V-7 Neptune (first with turbojet engines). He attended Ventura County College and Morris County College.

Ron Bergen began his 40+ year career at RFL Electronics Inc. as a Final Test Technician. He worked as a Customer Service Engineer, Sales and Systems Engineer, and Teleprotection Product Manager before going into outside sales. Ron served as the National Sales Manager responsible for sales representatives and regional managers prior to moving to Charlotte, NC in 1990 when he accepted a position as the first Southeastern Regional Manager for RFL Electronics Inc. On June 29, 2007 Ron retired from RFL to join The ASSET Company as Sales Engineer responsible for representation of RFL Electronics Inc. products in the states of KY, TN, NC, SC, and Northern FL.

Ron has written over six technical papers for presentations given at Georgia Tech & Western Protective Relaying Conferences, The National UTC Conference, and World Trade Conference, Sydney, Australia. Ron is a member of the IEEE Society. Ron brings experience in the field of Communications and Protective Relaying Applications to meet the needs in Electric Utility Transmission Systems.
