    PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

    Mr. Barnette has designed multiple substation and transmission improvement projects, relay systems for electric substations and transmission lines and developed relay coordination, short circuit, relay coordination, load flow, motor starting and arc flash engineering studies.

    As partner in The ASSET Company, he has also assisted in the development of substation design drawings including general arrangement, grounding plans, conduit plans and control house details. His areas of expertise also include the development of specifications for electrical equipment and testing procedures. He has served as project engineer for an electric power association and a private corporation, supervising staking technicians who designed distribution line improvements and draftsmen who maintained system maps, and oversaw design, construction and commissioning of several substations. He has supervised the construction of various projects and has also designed relay/control systems for electric substations including development of elementaries, panel drawings, performance of the functional testing of the design.

    GENERAL EXPERIENCE
    • Held responsible charge for the design and installation of 46 kV through 161 kV distribution substations.
    • Designed multiple substations for interconnecting power plants and industrial plants to utility transmission grids.
    • Performed direct electrical engineering for multiple gas insulated substation projects for indoor installations.
    • Designed 12 & 25 kV distribution lines, and managed the installation of 46 kV through 161 kV transmission lines.
    • Developed system planning studies including short term planning (CWP) and long term planning (Ten-year long range plan).
